Assemblywoman Paula Boland (R-Granada Hills) announced Friday that she will seek reelection in the 38th Assembly District, which includes parts of Ventura County and the San Fernando Valley.

"In these trying economic times, it is important for residents . . . to have a strong voice against future tax increases," Boland said in a statement announcing her reelection bid.

The district includes Simi Valley, Fillmore and parts of Thousand Oaks, as well as parts of Granada Hills, Northridge, Chatsworth and Canoga Park.

Boland was first elected to the Assembly in November, 1990.
