Houston Rocket Coach Don Chaney was quoted as saying, "If there's any risk at all (of Magic Johnson transmitting the AIDS virus), I don't feel that risk should be taken." I would remind him that frequently there are fatal car accidents and airplane crashes.
I don't blame people for having fear of AIDS. I have the same fears myself and take appropriate precautions. But let's face it, the chance of getting killed while going about our daily activities, including driving a car, is far greater than the chance of contracting AIDS on the basketball court.
