Trenton Cross hit an eight-foot jump shot with two seconds to play to give Reseda High a 63-62 win over visiting Kennedy in a Northwest Valley Conference game Friday. Cross, who had 16 points and seven assists, hit the winning shot after Kennedy's Shauhin Talesh missed the front end of a one-and-one opportunity with 11 seconds left.
Reseda (8-5, 3-1 in league play) led, 61-60, with 30 seconds remaining, but Marquis Burns (30 points) missed a shot and Kennedy scored a basket at the other end to take the lead.
Joe Wyatt led Kennedy (13-5, 2-2) with 23 points. Talesh and Vidal Little each added 12 points for the Golden Cougars.
Royal 57, Simi Valley 52--Royal's Brett Osterhoudt scored 26 points but none were bigger than his three-point basket to break a 52-52 tie with 15 seconds left in a Marmonte League upset over the visiting Pioneers (16-4, 7-2).
Simi Valley's Ryan Briggs, who scored 24 points, had tied the score 25 seconds earlier with a three-point shot. Steve Hodge contributed 16 points for Royal (8-11, 5-4). Danny Alexander scored 17 points for the Pioneers.
Agoura 63, Camarillo 62--Eddie Corridori scored with five seconds remaining to give host Agoura the Marmonte League victory. Corridori finished with 16 points and nine rebounds and Jon West added 14 points for Agoura (5-4 in league play). Jimmy Harbour led Camarillo with 22 points.
Thousand Oaks 76, Newbury Park 61--Sophomore forward Jason Hartman scored a team-high 17 points for host Thousand Oaks (13-6, 8-1), which took a one-game lead in the Marmonte League race. Shane Graham added 16 points for the Lancers, who made 24 of 47 shots from the field and 27 of 34 free throws.
Ridgecrest Burroughs 56, Canyon 54--Joe Ferguson had 22 points and eight rebounds for Canyon (11-9, 3-3) but the visiting Cowboys lost the Golden League game when Brent Stout's three-point shot missed at the buzzer.
Westlake 75, Channel Islands 66--Joey Leavitt scored a game-high 28 points to lead four Westlake players in double figures in the Marmonte League game at Channel Islands.
Dewaun Nunnery scored 26 points and Fred Gaines had 21 for Channel Islands (7-11, 1-8).
Cleveland 72, El Camino Real 71 (OT)--Shawn Bankhead scored two of his game-high 36 points in overtime to lead the visiting Cavaliers (5-11, 2-2) in a Northwest Valley Conference game.
Sam Sarpong and Markee Brown each scored 17 points for El Camino Real (3-7, 1-3).
North Hollywood 85, Van Nuys 54--F.J. Johnson and DeShawn Harvey each scored 15 points and Damon Ollie added 14 for visiting North Hollywood in a Mid-Valley League game.
Eric Grayson scored a game-high 18 points for Van Nuys.
Santa Clara 55, Santa Paula 45--The host Saints (18-3, 5-0) used a 16-7 third-quarter outburst to secure their 65th consecutive Frontier League victory.
Chris Cole scored 18 points and Stevie Amar added 15 for Santa Clara. Joey Ramirez led Santa Paula (13-5, 2-3) with 17 points and Terry Bell added 13.
Ventura 68, Oxnard 55--Randy Martinez scored 18 points and Martin Nunez added 16 to lead host Ventura (15-4, 6-3) in a Channel League game.
Buena 63, Dos Pueblos 56--Lance Fay was held to a season-low 15 points, but first-place Buena (16-3, 9-0) escaped with a Channel League win at home.
Buena's Andy Saint scored nine points and had 11 rebounds.
Monroe 70, Canoga Park 46--Jeff Nadeau had 25 points and 16 rebounds for host Monroe in the Mid-Valley League game. Canoga Park's Charles Adams scored 25 points.
Grant 70, Birmingham 53--Mark Small had 14 points and 11 rebounds, and Wayne Carlisle added 13 points and seven blocked shots, leading host Grant in an East Valley League game.
Poly 65, Sylmar 47--Juan DeLuna scored 13 points and had 12 rebounds for host Poly in the East Valley League game.
San Fernando 70, Granada Hills 67--Javier Ramos had 32 points and visiting San Fernando rallied from a nine-point third-quarter deficit for its first Northwest Valley Conference victory. Jerome Elliot added 16 points for San Fernando (7-7, 1-3) and Jeff Brown and Tyrone Jackman each had 16 points for Granada Hills (3-12, 0-4).
Alemany 79, Notre Dame 75--Chris Bello scored 22 points and Mark Guziel added 15 points and 13 rebounds for host Alemany in a Mission League game. Chris Walker added 14 points for Alemany (11-10, 5-4), which was without leading scorer Richard Dice, who was in Hawaii on a football recruiting trip.
Monte Marcaccini (29 points) and Damon Germanides (20) led Notre Dame (9-12, 3-6).
Harvard-Westlake 70, St. Francis 58--Greg Peters scored 27 points and had 10 rebounds for Harvard (13-6, 5-1) in the San Fernando League game. Jason Pruett led St. Francis (3-3) with 22 points.
L.A. Baptist 64, Village Christian 38--Mark Heerema scored a game-high 26 points on nine-of-13 shooting to lead the Knights in an Alpha League game. Vic Lozano paced the Crusaders (8-11, 2-4) with 16 points and teammate David Fennell added 12 points.
