Gonzales scored a whopping 13 goals in two Camino Real League games to boost his season total to 104. Gonzales recorded 10 goals in a 13-1 win over Serra of Gardena, then put in three more goals as Pius X of Downey defeated Verbum Dei, 6-1.

Other top performers:

* Tim Jackson, a forward on the Paramount High basketball team, connected on six of eight three-pointers and finished with a game-high 33 points as the Pirates won a San Gabriel Valley League contest with Warren, 70-61.

* Avondre Jones, Artesia High center, posted a career-high 15 rebounds as the Pioneers defeated Glenn, 74-37. Jones also had 22 points, three blocked shots and three assists. He added 11 points, 10 rebounds, five blocked shots and four assists in a 61-22 win over Bellflower as the Pioneers wrapped up the Suburban League with a 10-0 record. Artesia has 47 consecutive league wins.
