A two-year prison term has been given to man who pleaded guilty to beating and kicking a Hillcrest man.
Court records released Thursday show that Robert M. Hall, 34, a transient, was given the sentence and a $300 fine for the Jan. 4 attack on Daniel Chambers.
According to the probation report, Chambers was struck in the face and kicked by Hall in an unprovoked attack at 7:30 p.m. as Chambers was walking on University Avenue near 6th Avenue.
Hall pleaded guilty Jan. 16 to assault with a deadly weapon--Hall's fists and feet--and to inflicting great bodily injury.
San Diego Municipal Judge Gale Kaneshiro denied probation for Hall, who could have been sentenced to a maximum four year term and a $10,000 fine.
