CBS denied attempting to deceive viewers in the Eastern time zone by not telling them that Sunday morning's Olympic hockey final was being shown on tape delay.
The game between the Unified Team and Canada began at 8:15 a.m. EST. There was no indication that the telecast, which began at 9 a.m., was on tape delay; by the time CBS's telecast was between the second and third periods, the final score of the Unified Team's 3-1 victory already was being broadcast by other networks.
