Glendale : $540,000 More Allocated for New Storm Drains

March 05, 1992

The City Council on Tuesday allocated an additional $540,000 for construction of new storm drains downtown.

The money will be added to $210,000 already set aside for the project. The city and the county will share the cost of the $1.2 million project, the first of three phases of a five-year project to replace old and undersized drains throughout the downtown area.

The first phase, to be built around the Glendale Galleria, is scheduled to begin in May. A portion of the project calls for removing a storm drain in Harvard Street between Central Avenue and Brand Boulevard to allow for future expansion of the galleria.
