YORBA LINDA — The Richard Nixon Library & Birthplace will celebrate former First Lady Pat Nixon's 80th birthday today with free admission, a spring flower display, birthday cake, bagpipes and Irish folk dancing.
Library spokesman Kevin Cartwright said the first 80 visitors will be given free autographed copies of the book "Pat Nixon: The Untold Story," by Julie Nixon Eisenhower, her daughter. Cartwright said the event is being celebrated with a St. Patrick's Day theme because Pat Nixon, formerly Thelma Ryan, was born on the eve of the holiday.
