The Santa Monica College Writers' Conference is accepting applications.

The conference, to be held June 15-19, will be limited to 48 participants. Writers Denis Johnson, Whitney Otto, Grace Paley and Erika Taylor will be featured.

Applicants must submit a fiction writing sample of up to 20 pages. The deadline for applications is May 1.

The cost of the program, which includes a critique of the participant's work by one of the four writers, is $295.
