YANGON, Myanmar — The government announced the release of seven more political prisoners Sunday as part of a liberalization begun last week with the resignation of the junta's chairman.
On Saturday, the government freed former Prime Minister U Nu and 11 other prisoners and also said it would allow family members to visit Aung San Suu Kyi, the detained pro-democracy leader and Nobel Peace Prize winner.
