RIOT WATCH: The images of burned-out buildings and looting mobs that flickered on TV screens are familiar to Anaheim City Councilman Bob D. Simpson. . . . As a former Los Angeles County firefighter, Simpson was on the front lines during the 1965 Watts riots. "It was like walking into the middle of a Class B movie," he recalls. "But this is more widespread. Each incident requires a tremendous amount of resources. It's tragic, very sad."
