Monrovia : Historic Building Panel

July 26, 1992

The City Council approved the formation of a citizens advisory committee on the preservation of historic homes and buildings last week.

The Historic Preservation Advisory Committee, which will consist of seven to nine community members, will meet over six months to draft a historic preservation ordinance.

The formation of the committee was suggested by the city's Planning Commission last month so the city would have a strategy for preserving the city's concentration of late 19th- and early 20th-Century homes and neighborhoods, said Donald Hopper, community development director.

The committee will disband after completion of its task.
