Musicians Group Plans Benefit At Coach House

SAN JUAN CAPISTRANO — Bobby Hatfield of the Righteous Brothers, Dick Dale and the Deltones, former Desert Rose Band guitarist John Jorgenson, Don & Dewey and Billy Swan will be among those performing a benefit concert Sept. 13 for the Orange County Musicians Foundation.

The concert, from 1 to 7:30 p.m. at the Coach House in San Juan Capistrano, will feature more than 25 bands. The Musicians Foundation is a nonprofit organization that makes financial grants to local musicians who face medical crises and who lack health insurance.

Greg Topper, foundation president, said the list of performers also will include local bands playing rock 'n' roll, R & B, country and jazz. Tickets cost $20. They are available through Ticketmaster, the Coach House box office or can be bought directly from Topper at the Airporter Inn in Irvine, where his band performs Wednesdays through Saturdays.
