GENEVA : Spotlight on Bosnia

August 11, 1992

The U.N. Human Rights Commission will take up alleged abuses in Bosnia-Herzegovina during a two-day session beginning Thursday as international concern continues to mount over carnage in the former Yugoslavia.

Morris B. Abram, who was a prosecutor at the Nuremberg Nazi war crimes trials and who is now U.S. ambassador to the commission, requested the inquiry, saying: "The atrocities in former Yugoslavia are events I never thought we would have to revisit."
