They Have Their Own Version of the Closing Ceremony for Olympics

August 15, 1992

Yes, NBC's coverage of he Olympics was too glamorized, Americanized and videoized, but Larry Stewart simply went too far when he accused NBC of "lying" to its viewers when they announced that an event was "coming up" when in reality the event had already taken place.

Lying? Come on, give NBC a break. All they were saying is that their coverage of a certain event was coming up next, and they never used the word "live." According to Stewart, I guess it would be lying whenever they announce that "The Tonight Show" is "coming up," because it was recorded earlier in the day.
