Wildfires Battled in Oregon, Utah

August 16, 1992|From Times Staff and Wire Reports

Utah firefighters turned back a brush-fueled blaze that had threatened about 40 mountain cabins, while in Oregon lightning sparked dozens of wildfires in dry grass. In eastern Utah, the fire that threatened the cabins had burned over about 150 acres and was 20% contained, sheriff's officials said.
