Monrovia-based AeroVironment Inc. has announced management changes:

August 30, 1992

Tim Conver, president and chief operating officer, will take over the chief executive officer position from founder Paul MacCready, who will remain chairman.

Michael Wynn, vice president of finance, will be chief financial officer. Cathleen Cline, director of human resources, will be vice president of administration.

Eugene Lacey Jr., director of hazardous-waste programs, will be vice president with responsibility for environmental engineering. Other vice presidents are Alec Brooks, automotive and power systems; W. Ray Morgan, unmanned aircraft systems, and Kenneth Underwood, air quality and instrumentation. The company measures pollutants, studies soil and water contamination at industrial facilities, cleans up contaminated soil and ground water, and analyzes the air pollution effects of operating businesses.

It has also produced such vehicles as the human-powered Gossamer Condor and Gossamer Albatross, and the sunlight-powered Solar Challenger. The company designed the GM Sunraycer, which won the 1987 solar car race across Australia.
