JERUSALEM — A Palestinian employee at an Eest Jerusalem grocery store has confessed to poisoning food in an attempt to injure Israelis, police said Tuesday.

The worker, 21-year-old Rashid Zahada of Arab East Jerusalem, sprinkled rat poison on ground meat and injected bug spray into watermelons, vegetables and chicken soup mix, police said.

In another incident, Zahada spiked his boss' coffee with poison, police reported.

No one was injured in any of the incidents, apparently because only small amounts of poison were used.
