PRO FOOTBALL : DAILY REPORT : AROUND THE NFL : Harris to Play After Surgery

September 24, 1992| Associated Press

San Francisco 49er linebacker Tim Harris underwent surgery to repair a ligament in his right thumb but is expected to play Sunday against the New Orleans Saints.

Harris, who has five sacks, said he injured the finger in the first quarter of Sunday's victory over the Jets.

"I got my three sacks Sunday after I hurt my thumb," said Harris, who came to the 49ers in a trade with Green Bay during the middle of last season. "I expect to play with a splint and I don't see it as much of a hindrance."
