And She Thought Murphy Had Labor Pains

October 04, 1992

English leaves me astounded. Her cheap shot at the Reagan family as she accepted her Emmy was inexcusable. When discussing her "creative talents," she says: "It's just . . . my ridiculously high standard, which I've always had. I don't know if you're born with this stuff, or where it comes from."

Lady Di, I guess you were just born a genius. "High standards"? When she refuses health benefits for all workers on her sets except directors, writers and actors, she says: "We simply can't afford to be union right now." Doesn't English realize that the people she denies health benefits to are the ones who need them the most?
