LETTERS IN VIEW : You Want to Keep the Good Life? Then Vote

October 30, 1992

Re: "The Young, the Polls and Lost Enthusiasm" (Oct. 23): Here are some things for the apathetic young non-voters to ponder.

* Older citizens have gotten and kept the overgenerous entitlement programs by voting.

* Going to college, marriage, friends and family may be priorities, but the good life won't last for a non-voting electorate.

As a senior citizen who believes strongly that (entitlement programs are) welfare for the affluent elderly, I have written, telephoned and voted for candidates and issues that propose equality of health care for the young, old and in-between.
