Beating Around Bush

November 15, 1992

The authors list Bush's more favorable attributes (loyalty, duty, honesty, etc.), which, they say, have little to do with the ability to correct our nation's ills. Yet, I saw far less in Bill Clinton, who repeatedly changed his life history and his position on major issues. If that is what is considered an agent of change and a man of action, then I'd have had no problem sticking with a President who at least stands by his convictions and displays a reassuring consistency during a time of continual tumult.
