COLLEGE BASKETBALL : CSLA Back In Race After Skid

Tony McGee and Derek Knowles scored 15 points each as Cal State Los Angeles broke a five-game losing streak with a 57-51 win over Cal State Dominguez Hills in a California Collegiate Athletic Assn. game Thursday night.

The Golden Eagles forced 18 turnovers to remain in contention for a berth in the four-team CCAA postseason tournament, with two conference games remaining.

CAL STATE L.A.--McGee 15, Knowles 15, Latimore 9, Williams 8, Greene 5, Armstrong 4, Ball 1.

Records: CSDH 15-8, 6-6; CSLA 13-9, 5-7.

Compton College 88, East Los Angeles College 84--The Compton Tartars won the Southern California Athletic Conference title, defeating East L.A. College 88-84.
