Marvin Davis Sells Aspen Skiing Stake: The Los Angeles billionaire's 50% interest in the Colorado operation--which owns Aspen Mountain, Snowmass Mountain, Buttermilk/Tiehack Mountain, the Little Nell Hotel and the Snowmass Lodge and Club--is being bought by the Lester Crown family of Chicago, which now owns the entire operation. No details were announced, although real estate experts have estimated the value of the three mountains at $80 million. Davis acquired the Aspen stake in 1981 when he bought the 20th Century Fox studio, which he has since sold.
