Temple City : Race Crime Records Sealed

April 15, 1993

Case records were sealed Monday in federal court after a Temple City man was sentenced for the 1990 burning of a tiny cross on the front lawn of a black family's home.

Defense attorney Anna Ho requested that the records be sealed to protect Christopher Michael Knight, 22, who she said had no prior criminal record.

Knight and a juvenile accomplice, both members of a neo-Nazi group called "The Faith," pleaded guilty Feb. 1 in U.S. District Court to two misdemeanor criminal charges of intimidation based on race.

Among other acts, Knight admitted burning a nine-inch cross made of Lincoln Logs on Feb. 8, 1990.

He faced two years in prison and a $200,000 fine, but information detailing the sentence was withheld because of the court order.
