Creative Computer Posts Loss of $5.3-Million

Creative Computer Applications Inc., a Calabasas provider of medical computer systems, posted a $5.3-million loss for its fiscal second quarter ended Feb. 28.

The loss, which compared with a year-earlier profit of $106,624, came despite a 7% increase in Creative Computer's sales, to $1.41 million from $1.32 million a year earlier.

For the first half of its fiscal year, the company's profit tumbled to $40,150 from $207,656 a year earlier, and its six-month sales rose 12%, to $2.84 million from $2.54 million.

Creative Computer's earnings--The Times incorrectly reported April 20 that Creative Computer Applications, based in Calabasas, posted a large loss for its fiscal second quarter that ended Feb. 28. In fact, the company posted a modest loss of $5,293 on revenue of $1.4 million. In the same period a year earlier, Creative Computer posted a $106,624 profit on revenue of $1.3 million.
