The field for the NCAA Division I women's basketball tournament will be expanded from 48 to 64 teams.

The Division I men's soccer tournament will expand from 28 to 32 teams, the Division I women's volleyball tournament will grow from 32 to 48 schools, and Division I women's softball will go from 20 to 32 teams.

In another move, the Executive Committee approved a proposal made by the Football Rules Committee to move the hash marks closer to the center of the field by 6 feet 8 inches. The hash marks will now be 60 feet from each sideline, cutting down sharp angles on field-goal attempts.
