Gardener's Checklist

May 09, 1993| For dedicated gardeners, here are suggestions from the California Assn. of Nurserymen on what to do in the garden this week:

* Feed roses with a systemic rose care to control insects and encourage blooming. Cut off old flowers as roses finish blooming.

* Check apple and peach crops. Remove excess fruit if too much has set. This will give your fruit better size and save stress on the tree.

* Prune all spring flowering trees and shrubs. This includes lilac, quince, flowering plums and forsythia.

* Raise lawn move height to at least 2 1/2 inches for spring and summer.
