FCC Front-Runner Withdraws: Antoinette Cook withdrew her name from consideration to be the new chairman of the Federal Communications Commission. The 36-year-old stepdaughter of former Clinton Administration transition chief Vernon Jordan was considered a shoo-in, but took herself out of the running in a statement released Wednesday. "Service on the FCC would have been a great challenge and an honor, but my life at this time is filled with other challenges and honors, including the recent birth of my son," said Cook, who added that she is happy to remain senior counsel to the Senate Commerce Committee.
