June 01, 1993|ED BOND

The Verdugo Hills Family YMCA Day Camps offers trips from Santa Monica to Sea World this summer, YMCA officials said.

For YMCA members, the day camp program costs $90 a week for children 5 to 9 years old and $95 for children 10 to 13. Those who are not YMCA members pay an extra $10. Financial assistance is available.

Some overnight trips are planned, but the day camp programs run from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Extended care is available from 7 a.m. to 6:30 p.m.

Day camps are scheduled from June 21 to Sept. 10, with a special program June 14 for private school children who start summer vacation early.

Programs for children ages 5 to 6 include swimming lessons, singing, arts and crafts and storytelling. For those ages 7 to 9, sports and overnight camping is offered, and 10- to 13-year-olds will be offered field trips.

The Santa Monica Pier, Sea World, Griffith Park and Knott's Berry Farm are some of the destinations.
