Agoura's Camp Makes Commitment to Run for Arkansas

June 02, 1993|JOHN ORTEGA

Kristie Camp of Agoura High, one of the region's top 800-meter runners for the past three years, will continue her running career at Arkansas.

Camp, who has personal bests of 2 minutes 13.21 seconds in the 800 and 4:40.83 in the 1,500, took recruiting trips to Brigham Young and Arkansas before choosing the Southeastern Conference school.

Camp, who finished eighth in the 800 in last year's state championships, is the second runner from Agoura to make a commitment to Arkansas this year and the third since 1991.

Ryan Wilson, the 1992 state Division II cross-country champion, signed a letter of intent with the Razorbacks in March.

Former Agoura standout Deena Drossin is a sophomore at the school.
