A project to clean out about 2,700 storm drains in Van Nuys, San Fernando and Westlake Village will begin in August, Los Angeles County Supervisor Ed Edelman's office announced Friday.
Joel Bellman, a spokesman for Edelman, said the announcement was made to alert San Fernando Valley-area residents that the system is being maintained, particularly after the intense rains that flooded streets earlier this year.
