ANAHEIM — Al Sims, a minor league coach who guided the Ft. Wayne Komets through the International Hockey League playoffs unbeaten this season, is scheduled to interview for the Mighty Ducks' coaching job Tuesday, Sims said.

Sims, 40, has coached the Komets the last four years, taking them to the IHL finals twice. Ft. Wayne won 12 consecutive games in the playoffs, winning the IHL's Turner Cup by sweeping a San Diego Gulls team that won a league-record 62 games during the regular season.

Sims, a Kings defenseman from 1981-83 before retiring, played 10 seasons in the NHL with Boston, Hartford and the Kings.
