Gridlock

July 08, 1993

* The gridlock in Congress seems to be nothing more than a knockdown drag-out fight for political survival. The only way the Republicans can win is to have the Democrats fail, and vice versa. And all the energies and schemes of the opposing sides are directed toward that end. What happens to the country is secondary.

A friend of mine suggests a remedy that a lot of us would vote for: Limit members to two terms--one in office and one in jail.
