Weapons for the Mafia are pouring into Italy from the former Yugoslav federation and eastern Germany, raising fears that clans are arming for a war of succession to their captured godfather, Italy's top anti-Mafia investigator said. Chief prosecutor Bruno Siclari acknowledged that the traffic is virtually impossible to stop. Italy has struck several blows against organized crime this year, crowned by the arrest in January of Salvatore (Toto) Riina, alleged "boss of bosses" of the Sicilian Mafia.
