Who Needs Them?

July 18, 1993

* According to the Times article "Clinton Republicans Steadfast Despite Administration Critics" (July 4), developer Kathryn G. Thompson has repeatedly been called to Washington to confer on banking and business policy with President Clinton and members of the Cabinet.

I am indeed puzzled as to why we citizens need the unbridled special-interest agenda of Orange County land developers advanced by the Clinton Administration. Besides plummeting home prices, increased excess capacity and a further erosion in our quality of life, why won't continued ongoing construction and speculation result in the eventual collapse of Orange County's bloated housing market?
