Two environmental groups initiated legal action Tuesday against six Southland cities, a dozen companies and Caltrans for allegedly polluting the Santa Monica Bay with storm water and urban runoff.
The Natural Resources Defense Council served Beverly Hills, Culver City, El Segundo, Hermosa Beach, Rancho Palos Verdes and Westlake Village and the agency with notices of intent to sue over violations of the Clean Water Act. Heal the Bay filed notices against the companies involved.
