RECORD RACK

In Brief

August 01, 1993|KATHERINE TURMAN

* * Robin Zander, "Robin Zander," Interscope. A bland, disappointing solo debut from a onetime rock 'n' roll demigod. Though the Cheap Trick singer's yearning, emotionally charged voice is compelling on the lovely ballad "Time Will Let You Know" and in a memorable duet with the Divinyls' Christina Amphlett, the rest of the tracks are ordinary, adult-contemporary pop confections.

New albums are rated on a scale of one star (poor), two stars (fair), three stars (good) and four stars (excellent).
