Marines Serve Community Well

August 01, 1993

* As an instructional aide in the Saddleback Valley Unified School District, I had the opportunity to accompany a group of special-needs children to the Orange County Fair.

While there, we met a group of young Marines from the Tustin air station who were volunteering their time to assist in this most special event for these most special children.

One young first lieutenant and nine young enlisted Marines in their uniforms reminded me, and hopefully all who encountered them, of the outstanding contribution these fine young men and women continuously make to our community.

Be it for the Toys for Tots Christmas campaign or smaller projects such as this effort, we should all reflect and take great pride in these vital and positive members of our society.

Without them as our neighbors, friends and benefactors, our county will surely be a lesser place.
