Your Mortgage : Conference Links California Builders, Funding Sources

August 15, 1993|From a Times Staff Writer

Pacific Resources '93--a two-day conference designed to link California home builders with Asian funding sources--will be held Sept. 30 and Oct. 1 at the Ojai Valley Inn & Country Club, Ojai.

A highlight of the conference, which is sponsored by The Times and the Building Industry Assn. (BIA) of Southern California, will offer formal and informal meetings between builders and senior executives of Asian banks that are potential financing sources, conference chairman Michael C. Ning said.

Seminars on cultural considerations in dealing with Asian institutions, equity financing sources, Asian banking guidelines and relationship building also are planned, said Ning, who is president of Asiacapital Inc., a cross-border merger and acquisitions company.

"There is no other forum in California that so expertly addresses the subject of Asian financing for the housing industry," said Ross Willard, the BIA's vice president for education.

To facilitate networking among builders and lenders, the number of participants at Pacific Resources '93 will be limited to 300, Ning said.

Corporate sponsors are Asiacapital Inc.; Cox, Castle & Nicholson; Price Waterhouse; Warmington Homes; Kenneth Leventhal & Co.; Plotkin/Rosen Properties; Southern California Gas Co.; Coopers & Lybrand; Bramalea California Inc.; Gateway Title Co.; the Callison Partnership Ltd.; Parisi Design; TMC Realty; Kennedy-Wilson Inc.; Japan America Society of Southern California; the Coro Foundation of Southern California, and East-West Federal Bank.
