What a Lovely Little Village; I Think I'll Buy It

Marcella Hazan ("The Classic Italian Cookbook") has left Alfred A. Knopf, her publisher for the last 17 years. In one of the biggest cookbook deals ever, HarperCollins lured her away with a $650,000 advance for her next book, which will be on the little-known byways of Italy.

Secrets of the Pyramid

Lory Golden, a teacher, writer and closet cook, now edits What's For Dinner?, a monthly cooking newsletter that focuses on healthful seasonal cooking. Each issue contains a month of dinner menus using the Pyramid Food Guide. Assisting Golden are her two 12 year-old twin sons, "computer geniuses," who put her copy into newsletter form. (By the way, boys--you left the spinach out of the spinach lasagna recipe.) For a sample copy, send a self-addressed stamped envelope to What's for Dinner?, P.O. Box 793, Northfield, N.J. 08225.
