August 27, 1993|DEBRA GENDEL | SPECIAL TO THE TIMES

Carmen Times Two: We took in the opera Saturday night, followed by something way racier--a bumping, grinding version of Homer's "Odyssey" called "Ulysses." On stage at 's (formerly known as Prince) downtown nightclub, Glam Slam, this singer named Carmen, along with a cast of dancers, writhed onstage wearing ripped denim chaps, glittery fishnets and lots of leather. But our favorite ensembles were worn by Hades' ghouls, featuring light-up anatomical parts and the Sirens' skull-and-crossbones bikinis. The show runs through Sept. 4.
