August 30, 1993|BRENDA DAY

The Ventura County Crime Stoppers program is offering up to $1,000 reward for information that helps police arrest and convict the man who robbed three banks in Camarillo and Thousand Oaks, officials said.

In each case, the robber handed a note demanding money to tellers, who complied, police said.

From surveillance photos, the man is identified as a 30- to 35-year-old white male, about six feet tall with a medium build, police said.

He was well-groomed but dressed casually and wore black-framed sunglasses with yellow tinted lenses, police said.

The robberies occurred between 10:30 a.m. and noon on July 7 at First State Bank of the Oaks on North Moorpark Road in Thousand Oaks; Aug. 3 at Bank of A. Levy on Thousand Oaks Boulevard in Thousand Oaks, and Aug. 6 at Bank of America on Ponderosa Drive in Camarillo.

Police urge anyone with information to call 494-TALK from Thousand Oaks or Moorpark, 987-TALK from Camarillo, 986-TALK from Port Hueneme or 385-TALK from Oxnard. Callers may remain anonymous, police said.
