SIMI VALLEY : Applicants Sought for Area Councils

August 30, 1993|JAMES MAIELLA JR.

The city of Simi Valley is accepting applications from residents interested in serving on one of the city's four neighborhood councils.

The councils meet each month to consider issues of public concern and advise the City Council. Typically, Neighborhood Council members review proposed developments, traffic, public safety and other issues of local concern.

Each council must have seven to 13 members. There will be 24 vacancies at the end of the present council term Oct. 31, said David Petrovich, interim Neighborhood Council coordinator.

Applications will be accepted through Sept. 24, and the City Council is expected to appoint new members to two-year terms in late October, Petrovich said.

For information and an application, call Petrovich at 583-6777.
