Moving Again, Marine Leaves Northridge for CLU

September 04, 1993

Pete Marine, a wide receiver at Canoga Park High and Moorpark College, has transferred from Cal State Northridge to Cal Lutheran.

Marine, who graduated from Canoga Park in 1989, was an All-Western State Conference selection for Moorpark in 1989 and 1990 before accepting a scholarship to Arizona State. After redshirting for one season at Arizona State, Marine transferred to Northridge but sat out the 1992 season.

Erik Lazerus, a backup shortstop at Cal State Northridge last season, has transferred to Mission College, Free Spirit Coach John Klitsner said Friday.

Lazerus was sidelined most of the season because of a back injury. He played in only six games and went four for six with three runs batted in.

Entries are being accepted for the seventh Tom Hollenstein tournament, a fund-raiser for the Paralysis Project.

The tournament is scheduled for Oct. 11 at Woodland Hills Country Club. After the tournament, a banquet and auction will be held at the Calabasas Inn. Pepper Davis, one of the original stars of the women's professional hardball league featured in the film "A League of Their Own," is the featured speaker.
