A spellbinding pictorial biography containing more than 700 photographs arranged chronologically that provide a definitive visual record of Lincoln's life and a view of the Civil War from the President's perspective. The text contains extensive quotations from Lincoln and his contemporaries.

The Los Angeles Times Book Prize finalists and winners are selected in each category by an independent panel of judges. Winners will be announced in the Book Review issue of October 31.
