7 Small Quakes Cause No Damage

Several small earthquakes rumbled across Southern California on Tuesday, but for the most part they were not felt, and no damage or injuries were reported.

Two temblors--a magnitude 3.0 at 2:43 a.m. and a magnitude 3.4 at 9:41 a.m.--were centered near Yucca Valley. A magnitude 3.3 quake was centered six miles north-northwest of Ridgecrest at 6:02 p.m. and a quake with an early magnitude reading of 2.8 rattled the southern Los Angeles County coast at 5:20 p.m. A magnitude 3.0 quake struck at 4:43 a.m. 21 miles south-southeast of Mexicali. At 5:12 a.m., a 3.0 magnitude temblor hit 22 miles south-southeast of Oceanside, and a magnitude 2.8 quake struck one mile east of Redlands at 5:40 a.m.
