U.S. Trains Bodyguards

September 12, 1993| Associated Press

PORT-AU-PRINCE, Haiti — The United States is training scores of Haitians to serve as bodyguards to President Jean-Bertrand Aristide, who is scheduled to return from exile next month.

Aristide, a popular Roman Catholic priest, is despised by many in the army. Some soldiers have vowed to kill him if he returns.
