PREP ROUNDUP : Najarian, Drake Team Up to Lead Estancia in Tennis

Leslie Najarian and Jenny Drake won three doubles sets to lead Estancia to victory over Huntington Beach Monday in a nonleague girls' tennis match at Huntington Beach.

The match was tied, 9-9, but the Eagles (1-1) won 84-82 on games. Najarian and Drake won their sets, 6-2, 6-3, 6-3.

Milissa Dillard swept, 6-2, 7-5, 6-0, in singles for Huntington Beach (2-1).

In other nonleague girls' tennis matches:

Valencia 9, Canyon 9 (Valencia wins on games, 80-69)--Jenny Gonzales swept her singles sets without losing a game for visiting Valencia (2-0).

University 12, Capistrano Valley 6--Freshman Shannon Wilkins swept in singles, 6-4, 6-0, 6-4, to improve to 6-0 for visiting University (1-1). Capistrano Valley is 0-2.

In nonleague water polo:

Villa Park 16, El Dorado 3--Kevin Bobzien scored seven goals and sophomore Peter Cornue added two goals and four assists to lead Villa Park (1-0).

Sonora 12, Bolsa Grande 3--Andy Wyse and Jason Bollin each scored four goals, Jeff Owen added two and Tim Stanton had 12 saves to lead host Sonora (1-0).
