Wearing Nothing But a Demitasse

September 16, 1993|KATHIE JENKINS

There are Lady Godiva race horses, pumpkins and wigs. Dr. Seuss even wrote a book called "The Seven Lady Godivas." Now from Godiva Chocolates, the tiny Belgium company that was bought by Pepperidge Farms, a division of Campbell Soup, comes Cafe Godiva, a line of after-dinner coffees priced at a hefty $2.50 per 2 ounces, or $10 for a 10-ounce bag. The coffee has no chocolate--in fact, tasters here found it extremely ordinary. But it is attractively packaged. In addition to regular and decaf, the coffee comes in three flavored versions: vanilla-hazelnut, cinnamon-praline, and toasted almond. Available at Godiva Chocolatier shops, finer department and specialty stores or by phoning: (800) 643-1579.
